The SAE Students’ Night competition is an engineering design contest held annually by SAE Central Ontario Section. In this event, students teams under the SAE Collegiate Series, participate in a design review of their prototype and the top three teams are recipients of cash prizes. In the past, participation of the event was limited to student teams in Southern Ontario – however, in 2026, the SAE Central Ontario Section will be opening the event’s participation to teams from all across the Province of Ontario.
This year’s event will be hosted by Ontario Tech University at their campus, on Tuesday, June 23 from 4:30 PM onwards. Details of the event can be found below.

Please note that registration fees are non-refundable.
Eligibility
To participate in the SAE Students’ Night event, teams must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an SAE Collegiate Student Teams, based in Ontario, Canada. This includes Formula SAE, Baja SAE and SAE Aero Design.
- Must have a functioning prototype that meets the rules of the series the team is registered in.
- Participation of the prototype in a recent competition is ideal.
